On Saturday, Sept. 16 at 11 a.m., Santa Monica Police officers responded to the 1700 block of Ocean Front Walk regarding a report of a man flashing passerbys on the bike path. When officers arrived, they spoke with a woman who said that she was riding her bike with friends when the man exposed his genitals to her and others. Officers located the suspect nearby and he was arrested and transported to the Santa Monica Jail where he was booked for indecent exposure. He was identified as Mathew Lee Dauberman, 35, a transient. His bail was set at $10,000.

On Saturday, Sept. 16 at 6:15 p.m., officers on routine patrol stopped a vehicle for a minor traffic violation and discovered the occupants had cocaine in their possession. The two were arrested and booked for possession of a controlled substance. They were identified as James Kevin Bishop, 59, of Los Angeles, and Linda Akiko Inai, 37 of Culver City. No bail was set for either because of a probation violation.

On Saturday, Sept. 16 at 8 p.m., officers responded to the 1200 block of the Third Street Promenade — the Apple Store — regarding a report of petty theft. When officers arrived, they spoke with store security who said a man walked into the store, grabbed an $80 radio and left without paying. He was confronted by security and detained until police arrived. Officers took the man into custody for shoplifting. He was identified as Pedro Ruiz, 33, from Van Nuys. His bail was set at $10,000.

On Friday, Sept. 15 at 10:50 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle in the 2900 block of Fourth Street. Officers sensed something suspicious and searched the car, locating a loaded firearm. One suspect was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon. He was identified as Armando Thomas, 25, from Los Angeles. No bail was set.

On Friday, Sept. 15 at 4:30 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of Ozone Street regarding a domestic disturbance. During an investigation at the home, officers discovered a powdery substance that was later determined to be cocaine. One of the occupants, Raymond Mickshaw, 44, of Santa Monica, was arrested for possession of a narcotic. His bail was set at $10,000.

On Friday, Sept. 15 at 1:36 p.m., officers responded to the 2300 block of Main Street — the Urth Cafe — regarding a complaint of an intoxicated man causing havoc. When officers arrived, they contacted the cafe employees who said a suspect entered the business and attempted to take $12 from a tip jar. When he was confronted, he attacked one of the employees and ran outside the cafe. Police were able to locate the suspect nearby and he was arrested for attempted robbery, assault and battery and public intoxication. He was identified as Martin Schmidt, 33, of Santa Monica. His bail was set at $50,000.

On Thursday, Sept. 14 at 12:34 a.m., officers in the 1500 block of Ocean Avenue detained a man who was riding his bike on the sidewalk in violation of the municipal code. The suspect also had another bike in his arms. Upon further investigation, police discovered the bike was stolen. The suspect was arrested for possession of stolen property. He was identified as Lachyrro Lewis, 30 a transient. His bail was set at $20,000.

On Monday, Sept. 11 at 1:48 p.m. officers responded to the 300 block of Colorado Avenue — Sears — regarding a report of petty theft. When officers arrived, they spoke with a security guard who said a man walked into the store and walked out with a bottle of cologne valued at $37.50. He failed to pay for the item. The suspect was detained until police arrived. He was booked for burglary due to the fact that he admitted to entering the store with the intent of stealing something, police said. He was identified as Juan Fernandez, 37, a transient. His bail was set at $20,000.

On Monday, Sept. 11 at 2:45 a.m., officers responded to the 1200 block of Third Street — Restoration Hardware — regarding a report of a man throwing rocks through storefront windows. When officers arrived they spoke with witnesses who said they saw a man smashing windows to several businesses on the Promenade. The suspect was detained and arrested for vandalism. The suspect was identified as Jamshid Afshar, 48, of Santa Monica. His bail was set at $20,000. Six business were vandalized, Police said. No items were taken from any location.
