Dine and donate
By Daily Press staff
On Thursday, Nov. 2, from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Westside realtors Joyce Rey and Cecelia Waeschle will host a sit-down dinner at the Hotel Bel-Air. Proceeds from the event will support childcare programs at St. Joseph Center, a Venice-based, nondenominational social service agency.
For two decades, Joyce Rey of Coldwell Banker and Cecelia Waeschle of Sotheby’s, both leaders in the Beverly Hills-Malibu real estate community, have planned the event as a private dinner party to celebrate Rey’s birthday, and as a fundraiser for St. Joseph Center. “Rather than gifts, I encourage my friends and associates at Coldwell Banker and throughout the real estate community to support our Childcare Scholarship Fund,” Rey said. Since its inception, the fund has raised more than $400,000. Last year’s event attracted more than 100 business owners and fellow realtors.
Proceeds from the event, which will be underwritten by Sotheby’s International Realty and Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, go to St. Joseph Center’s two childcare programs. Each year, these programs provide more than 80 homeless and low-income children from Venice and Santa Monica with holistic care aimed at helping them grow up happy, strong, and emotionally and mentally able to begin school.
Tickets are $200 per guest. If you would like to attend, call (310) 317-4995 for more information.
