Giving RAND a hand
By Daily Press staff
The Spitfire Grill will donate 15 percent of its sales between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 1, to benefit the RAND Corporation’s Gulf States Policy Institute. Patrons are asked to bring a RAND benefit flyer with them when they order. The flyers are available on the restaurant’s Web site (www.spitfiregrill.net).
The restaurant will feature a “RANDwich” on the menu that day: A grilled chicken breast, topped with melted mozzarella, fresh basil, tomato and lettuce on a whole wheat ciabatta bread, with a choice of either house-made potato chips or a mixed baby-greens salad with choice of dressing for $9.50
RAND is a nonprofit research organization with headquarters in Santa Monica. RAND’s Gulf States Policy Institute, based in Jackson, Miss., was created in late 2005 to develop a long-term vision and strategy to help build a better future for Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama in the wake of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
