Woman makes like a rockstar, trashes hotel room

Wednesday, Nov. 29, at 8:50 a.m. Santa Monica police officers responded to the 1100 block of Pico Boulevard — Holiday Motel — regarding a report of vandalism. When officers arrived, they spoke to the hotel manager who said a woman had rented a room and had broken the television, a lamp and had spilled candle wax all over the walls and the carpet. The damages were estimated at over $500, the hotel manager told police. When the manager confronted the guest, she allegedly pulled out a small, two-inch pocket knife and threatened to stab anyone who got in her way. Armed with a description of the suspect, officers were able to locate the hotel guest on the corner of Pico and Lincoln boulevards. She was transported to the Santa Monica Jail, where she was booked for assault with a deadly weapon and malicious mischief. She was identified as Patsy Ann Buchanan, 50, of Mar Vista. Her bail was set at $30,000.
Sunday Nov. 26, at 6:55 p.m. Officers responded to the 2600 block of Lincoln Boulevard — Albertsons — regarding a report of a burglary in progress. When officers arrived, they spoke with store security who said a man in custody had tried to steal a case of Coors beer. Security said the man had stolen a case of beer earlier in the day and had returned for another. Once exiting the store, he was confronted by store security and a fight ensued, police said. The suspect, who was captured on store security cameras, was detained and arrested for burglary. He was identified as Thomas Gustavo Padilla, 40, a resident of Santa Monica. No bail was set because Padilla was on probation, police said. One case of beer valued at $18 was recovered.
Tuesday, Nov. 28, at 11:30 p.m. Officers on routine patrol in the 2600 block of Lincoln Boulevard spotted employees of Albertsons chasing two subjects through the store’s parking lot. When officers went to investigate, they were told by store employees that the two subjects stole two 15-inch, LCD televisions valued at $250 each. Officers detained one of the suspects. The other fled on foot, but was later apprehended in the 800 block of Hill Street. The two were charged with grand theft. The suspects were identified as Moenick Montgomery, 24, of Paramount, and Jennifer Monique Hickman, 22, also of Paramount. No bail was set for Montgomery because of a probation violation. Hickman’s bail was set at $7,000.
Wednesday, Nov. 29, at 9 p.m. Officers responded to the 2800 block of Exposition Boulevard regarding a report of a residential burglary. When officers arrived, they found that the suspect or suspects had entered the locked apartment through a bedroom window. The suspect or suspects ransacked the apartment and fled with more than $16,000 in jewelry, collectibles and clothing, police said. Upon further investigation, officers were able to track down a suspect, who was arrested for residential burglary. The suspect was identified as Vivian Grammatico, 25, from Los Angeles. Her bail was set at $60,000.
Saturday, Dec. 2, at 1 a.m. Officers on routine patrol observed a suspect in the 1600 block of Wilshire Boulevard holding a can of spray-paint. When the suspect saw officers, he immediately ran from them. Officers were able to catch up with him in an alley off 15th Street. The suspect had fresh paint on his hands and further investigation revealed that the suspect had just spray-painted or “tagged” his name at three separate locations on Wilshire Boulevard, police said. The suspect was arrested and charged with a felony count of vandalism because the damage was more than $400. He was identified as Jonathan Montenegro, 19, of Los Angeles. His bail was set at $20,000.
