Man arrested for raping another man while unconscious

Santa Monica Police officers responded to the 1700 block of Ocean Park Boulevard regarding a report of two people involved in a lewd act. When officers arrived, they found a man passed out due to heavy drinking. Another man was standing over him. Further investigation revealed that the man standing had sex with the victim when he was unconscious and unable to give consent, police said. Based on evidence at the scene, the suspect was arrested and charged with rape. He was identified as Leven Henry Johnson, 52, a transient. His bail was set at $100,000.
On Sunday, Dec. 24 at 9:45 p.m.
Officers responded to the corner of Third Street and Wilshire Boulevard regarding a report of a strong arm robbery that had just occurred. When officers arrived, they spoke to a victim who said he was sitting on a bus bench when three suspects approached him and began punching him, knocking him to the ground. Once on the ground, one of the suspects grabbed the victim’s backpack and all three fled. The victim was able to get up and with the help of a local security guard, the two were able to detain one suspect until police arrived. The suspect was arrested for strong arm robbery. He was identified as Juan Francisco Larios, 27, a transient. No bail was issued because Larios was on parole, police said. The other two suspects were not apprehended.
Saturday, Dec. 23 at 5:20 p.m.
Officers on routine patrol in the 1200 block of Wilshire Boulevard saw a man riding a bicycle on the sidewalk and without a light in violation of the municipal and vehicle code. When officers stopped the suspect, they conducted a search and found several Ziploc baggies containing a small amount of marijuana and methamphetamines. There was also a small scale and other paraphernalia commonly used for the sale of narcotics. The suspect also had several warrants for his arrest, police said. The suspect was arrested for the possession of narcotics for sale. He was identified as Patrick Jackson Moss, 38, a transient. His bail was set at $22,064.
Wednesday, Dec. 20 at 10:15 p.m.
Officers responded to an apartment complex in the 1000 block of Second Street regarding a family disturbance. When officers arrived, they found a husband and wife fighting. Officers pulled the two apart and during interviews with each found that the two were involved in a heated argument and a scuffle ensued. While the husband received a 2-inch abrasion under his left eye during the fight, officers determined that he was the aggressor and arrested him for domestic violence. He was identified as Robert Todd Harris, 40, of Santa Monica. His bail was set at $20,000. He also had outstanding warrants, police said.
Thursday, Dec. 21 at 3 p.m.
Officers responded to the 2600 of Main Street — ZJ Boarding House — regarding a report of shoplifting. When officers arrived, they spoke with a store employee who said a woman entered with several large shopping bogs. She took several pieces of clothing from the racks, went into a dressing room and then left without any clothes in her hands, police said. When confronted by store security, the woman, she began to faint. Paramedics were called and treated the woman at the scene. Officers searched her bags and found several items of clothing from the store as well as pliers that she used to remove security tags, police said. The woman was arrested for burglary and possession of burglary tools. She was identified as Gretchen Aumiller Neville, 43, a transient. Her bail was set at $20,000.
Wednesday, Dec. 20 at 1 a.m.
Officers responded to the 1800 block of Seventh Street after receiving a call from Los Angeles police officers about a rape that allegedly occurred at that location. When officers arrived they detained a suspect who allegedly raped a woman in his apartment after the two had gone out on a date, police said. Following the assault, the woman left the apartment and notified police. The suspect who was arrested for rape was identified as Carl Gregory Tabor, 49, of Santa Monica. His bail was set at $100,000.
Tuesday, Dec. 19 at 3:25 p.m.
Officers responded to the 200 block of Wilshire Boulevard regarding a theft in progress at a commercial office building. When officers arrived, they spoke with security who said a man came in applying for a job. When he dropped his resume off he allegedly took a wallet from one of the employees purses. When he was confronted, the suspect denied taking the wallet. He tried to leave and picked up his coat. A wallet fell out of one of the pockets, police said. The suspect was detained by security until police arrived. He was arrested and booked for commercial burglary. He also had several warrants for his arrest. He was identified as Glen Dell Collins, 43, of Inglewood. His bail was set at $114,500.
