LAX COURTHOUSE The 18-year-old day laborer who was arrested Sept. 28 after allegedly breaking into a Santa Monica condo and raping the owner when she returned home from work will face arraignment on Nov. 21 at the West Los Angeles Airport Courthouse.

Luis Mario Lopez had previously worked for the 42-year-old victim at her home in the 1100 block of Princeton Avenue, police said.

Lopez is being charged with five counts of forcible rape and one count each of forcible oral copulation, sexual penetration by a foreign object, first-degree residential burglary and unlawfully taking the victim’s car.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Antonio Barreto Jr. found sufficient evidence to allow the case to proceed to trial. Lopez, who was 17 at the time of the alleged attack, is being prosecuted as an adult.

If convicted, Lopez faces multiple life prison terms and would be required to submit to HIV-AIDS testing, according to the criminal complaint.
