A Westside resident went for spin on national television and wound up $24,300 richer.

Pamela Beaver of Westchester was a winning contestant on the Dec. 22 episode of Wheel of Fortune during “Happy Holidays Week.”

“I am ecstatic about being here today,” said Beaver minutes before the taping.

Beaver, an executive assistant, took home a haul that included a trip to Las Vegas valued at $6,500\. She credits her success to staying focused on winning. In her free time, Beaver enjoys singing and playing guitar in her bluegrass band.

Wheel of Fortune marked its 22nd season in syndication in September. Last year, more than 1 million people requested the chance to audition for Wheel of Fortune. Fewer than 600 people were selected to appear on the show. Within the last 22 years of being on-air, Wheel of Fortune has awarded approximately $143 million in cash and prizes to its contestants.
