The Santa Monica Playhouse will be home to a herd of characters during the months of February and March.

Actor’s Repertory Theatre (ART) of Santa Monica Playhouse presents the return of the all-new version of the musical comedy “Barnyard Madness with the Three Little Pigs.”

“Barnyard Madness”, one of the 15 original fairy tales that are part of the Santa Monica Playhouse family theatre musical matinee series, cuts across the imaginary generation gap by providing an experience for the entire family. The 1940s country and western show is a musical comedy that follows the romantic antics and show business aspirations of the singing McPig Sisters and their wolverine admirers, Clarence and Lou P. Wolfman, proving that true friendship does not depend on size, color, background, nationality or “species.”

The show was written and directed by Chris DeCarlo and Evelyn Rudie with ART members Rebecca Coombs, James Cooper, Serena Dolinsky, Cynde Moore and John Waroff. Set design by James Cooper, costume design by Ashley Hayes and lighting and sound design by The Attic Room.

“Barnyard Madness” will be show at the Santa Monica Playhouse main stage at 1211 Fourth Street. The show will run for five weeks, from Feb. 4 to March 5 on Saturdays and Sundays at 12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. A holiday performance is scheduled for Feb., 20 at 2 p.m. to celebrate President’s Day. Tickets are $10.50 for kids 12 and under, $12.20 for adults. Reservation are necessary. For more information call the theatre box office at (310) 394-9779 ext. 2\. February Jazz at the Vic
