It’s going to be a critical mass of bicyclists tonight at the pier. The Santa Monica Critical Mass, a group of bike enthusiasts, will gather on Friday at 6:30 p.m. at the Santa Monica Pier, at Ocean and Colorado avenues.

Members of Critical Mass describe themselves as bike-friendly and protest for better cycling facilities and against the car culture.

Santa Monica Critical Mass meets at 6:30 p.m. on the first Friday of every month at the Santa Monica Pier.

There are two early meeting points, which merge into the main group: ■ 5:30 p.m., UCLA (Westwood Boulevard and Le Conte) ■ 5:30 p.m., Venice Circle (Main Street and Windward Avenue) Break out the Barbies
