# Whatever Water Park Opens on Santa Monica Pier as Fishers Hook Swimmers

Boogaloo Shrimp/Daily Mess SLIP, SLIDE AND OY VAY: It was cold water temperatures be damned on Friday as Jorge Sanchez, wearing sweat pants, and friends took advantage of the new Whatever Water Park on the Santa Monica Pier. City officials issued a statement on Thursday that said, more or less, “If people pay a buck a bellyflop... whatever.” Pier officials are considering moving the park further in after eight would-be splashers were hooked in the face by Pier fishers.
