*By Ed Silverstein Santa Monica*

Did I actually hear right? Did Jim Rosenfeld, owner of the Aero and a landmarks commissioner, actually say that sometimes voluntary preservation is better? That he LETTERS, from page 6 was against landmarking the 1939 art deco movie house because it would add a layer of bureaucracy deterring potential renters?

Isn’t that the argument for Proposition A which he and the Landmark Commission viciously and deceptively rallied against? Rosenfeld, along with Genser, Lehrer and any other Landmarks Commissioner who supports his position should resign immediately and join the Bush administration where hypocrisy is admired and appreciated.
