That moose is feeling pretty bad. But maybe he’ll feel better if you attend storytime hour at 826LA. 826LA is kicking-off a new storytime hour Saturday, April 23, 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Storyteller Amber Early will be reading tales about a moose with a cold and a flying abuela. Prior to the stories there will be a craft-making session. Kids can create the moose and other characters from the story before hearing about them. 826LA is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting students ages 8 to 18 with their creative and expository writing skills, as well as helping teachers inspire their students to write. Services are structured around the belief that great leaps in learning can happen with one-on-one attention, and that strong writing skills are fundamental to future success. 826LA also provides free drop-in tutoring, after-school workshops, in-schools tutoring, help for English language learners and assistance with student publications. 826LA is located in the SPARC building, second floor, 685 Venice Blvd. RSVP via e-mail to or call (310) 305-8418 for more information.
