A week-long Caribbean cruise on a fully-manned private yacht tops the program at St. Monica’s scholarship dinner and auction this year.

The 13th annual St. Monica’s Academic and Spiritual Heritage (SMASH) will be held Saturday, April 29 at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Marina del Rey.

St. Monica parish community’s parishioners and friends of the elementary and high schools are invited to the benefit.

The growth of the school endowment since the first SMASH has enabled St. Monica to distribute more than $500,000 in tuition assistance over the last decade. This year, the endowment has provided more than $100,000 in tuition assistance to more than 60 students.

Without the contributions made to SMASH each year, other students might not have the opportunity to receive a Catholic education that prepares them for college.

Other auction offerings include two-week trips to Oahu with airfare, a 25-foot Catalina sailboat, golf and spa/salon packages, dinners at various restaurants, tickets to sporting and theater events, as well as various collectibles.

There also will be a $10,000 raffle drawing. Ultimately, the success of the event rests on the collective effort of the committed parents, friends, and parishioners of St. Monica Parish Community.

The ticket price is $125 per person. Tickets must be purchased in advance by check or credit card and submitted to “St. Monica SMASH,” 725 California Ave., Santa Monica, CA 90403.
