# Elks Veterans Committee asks public to donate books for VA hospital

Instead of blood, donate books. Robbie Robinson, chairman of the Santa Monica Elks Veterans Committee, is asking for the donation of books for the Veterans Hospital. Donations can include hard cover books, pocket books, current magazines, audio tapes and video tapes. The books will be used to stock the lending libraries. Material suitable for men is preferred as there are more men than women in the hospital.

Anyone wishing to donate may drop off the books at the Santa Monica Elks Lodge at 1040 Pico Blvd. between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, or noon to 6 p.m. on Thursday. If you have a large amount, call Curt Curtiss (310) 645-8989 for pick up.
