Even art can show how to lend a helping hand. Westside Food Bank, a provider of nearly 4 million pounds of food annually to 65 social service agencies, will be hosting a show of mixed-media art from local artists and students at the Ken Edwards Center, located at 1527 Fourth St. in Santa Monica.

The Westside Food Bank has served the local community for more than 20 years by providing food to 65 social service agencies serving the westside area. Each year, Westside Food Bank’s food touches close to 80,000 people, nearly half of whom are children. The show is entitled: “Hunger: How aware are you?” Several local artists have contributed pieces, as have students from various local schools and programs. Artists were asked to reflect on the question, “What does hunger look like to you?”

A bin will be on site for canned food donations, and parking is available in the Ken Edwards Center parking structure. The art show will be on display from June 7 through June 10, during the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
