# Twilight Dance Series Returns to Santa Monica Pier With Weekly Concerts and Giveaways

The concert series began in 1983 as a way to bring visitors back to the pier after a series of storms nearly destroyed it. Today, the concerts are like a symbolic block party for Santa Monica. Over the last two decades, the Twilight Dance Series has grown to attract more than 10,000 people per concert.

Bike Attack on Main Street is raffling off a beach cruiser every week to benefit Heal the Bay, and Amoeba records will give away a $100 gift certificate each Thursday night to one fan who signs up for the mailing list at their booth.

The Santa Monica Pier is located at the intersection of Colorado Avenue and Ocean Avenue in Santa Monica. Pier officials strongly recommend walking, biking and using mass transit to get to the concerts as parking is limited. Parking is available in beach parking lots located at 2030 Barnard Way and 1550 PCH, both accessible off Ocean Avenue.
