Santa Monica has received more than $700,000 in federal funding as part of a $10 million nationwide pilot program designed to get chronically homeless people off the streets. Santa Monica officials, who hope the grant will help put 30 people in housing, estimate 90 percent of the money will go toward rent for some of those who have been on the streets the longest.

Call (310) 285-8106 before Friday at 5 p.m. and we’ll print your responses in the weekend edition. Please try to limit your comments to a minute or less. It might help to think first about the wording of your response.
