This weekend, lululemon athletica, a yoga-inspired athletic apparel company, will present its second annual beach yoga benefit — Tribal Yoga Groove. The celebratory yoga and dance class will be taught by Hala Khouri and Gauri Brienda. The class will be accompanied by live drumming.

The class will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26 in Santa Monica’s Palisades Park, at the intersection of Ocean and Palisades avenues. Class will be followed by a reception with food and live music at the lululemon athletica store located at 331 Santa Monica Blvd. lululemon will be donating a percentage of that day’s sales to the ARRIVE Program, a juvenile rehabilitation program dedicated to improving the emotional and physical health of at-risk youth. ARRIVE, which was successfully piloted at Central Division Juvenile Hall, takes participants on a journey of meditative awareness through the body, giving them tools for managing and releasing the overwhelming emotions caused by life trauma. ARRIVE also builds healthy habits of diet, exercise and meditation. Together, the tools help participants remain calm and centered through even the most upsetting situations, making them less likely to re-offend and helping them become peaceful and empowered members of the community.

Khouri was instrumental in the development of ARRIVE, and both she and Brienda are core teachers for ARRIVE. The ARRIVE program is a part of Assemblies in Motion, Inc.

By creating products that keep people active and stress free, lululemon believes that the world will be a better place. lululemon works with yogis and athletes in local communities for continuous research and product feedback. For more information, visit www.lululemon.com.
