Shutters on the Beach and Casa Del Mar are joining forces in a fundraising effort in conjunction with Hurricane Katrina relief efforts.

One hundred percent of all food and beverage revenues from lunch and dinner service at all three of their dining establishments — Oceanfront at Casa Del Mar and both One Pico and Pedals Café at Shutters — on Sept. 20 will benefit the local chapters of the American Red Cross and the Salvation Army.

“Hurricane Katrina has devastated the Gulf Coast, its residents and so many thousands of families throughout the United States,” said Klaus Mennekes, vice president, managing director for Shutters on the Beach and Casa Del Mar. “Our hotels, Shutters on the Beach and Casa Del Mar, and all of our staff involved want to give back locally to those organizations spearheading the nation’s relief efforts.”

The properties, both owned by the Edward Thomas Group, are luxury waterfront properties hosting thousands of guests and business travelers annually from the United States and abroad.

“There have been many worthy product drives and funds created, but we wanted to offer an additional, enjoyable means for our guests and local residents who are dining on property to feel further involved in their support of these lead agencies taking care of the needs of victims and their families,” Mennekes added.

Residents of Los Angeles and guests of Shutters on the Beach and Casa Del Mar can do their part by participating in the relief efforts by dining at Oceanfront, One Pico or Pedals, or by donating directly through the Red Cross or Salvation Army.

The effort comes as part of a company-wide effort in tandem with the fundrais-ing efforts their sister property Hotel Andalucia, in Santa Barbara, hosted on Sept. 13\. The general manager at Andalucia is a Louisiana native. For more information about Hurricane Katrina relief efforts, visit www.red-cross.org and www.salvationarmyusa.org. Masters to take the stage
