What planet are you on? You’ll be on Mars if you show up to Santa Monica College’s weekly astronomy series. The series starts this Friday night with “Mars Returns.” It is held every Friday at 8 p.m. in the John Drescher Planetarium, second floor of Drescher Hall at 1900 Pico Blvd., for the next four weeks ending on Nov. 4\. The lectures take place in the Science Lecture Hall 140.

A show that gives the latest on space exploration called “The Night Sky Show” comes before every astronomy show and lecture at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $5 or $9 for both sows; discounts are available for children and senior citizens.

Call (310) 434-4223 or (310) 434-3000 for more information.
