Kitchen Academy has announced its new alliance with American Film Institute Fest 2005.

Now in its 19th year, AFI FEST 2005 will run from Nov. 3-13, 2005 at ArcLight Hollywood, also home of the Kitchen Academy. Kitchen Academy will focus on creating one of the supporting roles of the festival — the food.

Kitchen Academy will host events for AFI FEST 2005 in its new facility located in the ArcLight Hollywood complex. Academy students will create and serve food to festival patrons. During the day, Kitchen Academy is the location for the AFI FEST’S Kodak CONNECT program, where visiting filmmakers meet with representatives from all corners of the film community within an intimate and intensive framework of one-on-one meetings. In the evening, Kitchen Academy turns into a green room for the festival’s gala events and special screenings.

Kitchen Academy is a new culinary training program where students concentrate solely on hands-on cooking and baking skills. The program has been designed by chefs and has been developed to allow students to earn their professional culinary arts diploma in as little as 30 instructional weeks.

Upon completion of the program, the graduate should be qualified to work in an entry-level position in the culinary or hospitality industries. Today, the food industry is a $476 billion industry and is the largest employer next to the government, employing 12.2 million and growing, according to the National Restaurant Association 2005 Restaurant Industry Forecast.
