# Santa Monica Family YMCA to hold community open house Jan. 7

Want to learn more about the Santa Monica YMCA? Now’s your chance. The Santa Monica Family YMCA will host a community open house Saturday, Jan. 7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Community members unfamiliar with the YMCA, or those who are simply curious to see the expanded facility are invited to attend.

Attendees will be treated to tours, health and fitness activities and also will be eligible for door prizes and giveaways. There also will be programs for adults, children and seniors. Current members are encouraged to bring their friends and family.

The Santa Monica Family YMCA serves the Santa Monica, Venice and Westside communities, and features a 85,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility for people of all ages, as well as 270 underground parking spaces.

The YMCA is committed to basic Christian principles and offers high quality, family-centered programs that bring parents and children together, giving families a chance to strengthen their relationships in a safe, caring, and welcoming environment, representatives of the organization said.

The YMCA provides a variety of additional programs and services that support the growth of people in spirit, mind and body and works for the complete development of each person in physical strength, confidence, and self-worth.
