Two motorists had to be rescued from a swamped car when a water main break flooded a Hollywood street early Wednesday.

Los Angeles firefighters extended a ladder out to two women who had climbed onto the top of a swamped car.

The incident occurred before dawn near the U.S. 101 freeway, east of the Hollywood Bowl.
