Santa Monica’s Morgan-Wixson Theatre has begun rehearsals for its 23rd annual Youth Musical, 42nd Street. Performers 9-18 years old from all over Los Angeles competed in a rigorous audition process to land a coveted spot in the cast. The ultimate show-biz musical, 42nd Street is full of Broadway standards, including “We’re In The Money,” “Lullaby of Broadway,” “Shuffle off to Buffalo,” and the title song. The students rehearse most evenings, spending much of that time learning the intricate tap dance numbers that make this show a unique thrill. 42nd Street runs November 10 through December 15. www.morgan-wixson.org
