Traffic at and around the Chevron gas station on Cloverfield came to a halt on Thursday as drivers packed the station for discounted fuel.
Amazon sponsored gas for 30 cents a gallon to promote their show The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and cars began clogging the area in the morning. Santa Monica Police officers responded to help traffic move through several intersections and while SMPD was concerned about safety, they let the event conclude naturally.
However, traffic was gridlocked through the intersection and backed up onto the freeway through early afternoon.
