A nonprofit corporation that flies people with illnesses from Santa Monica all over the country for treatment has expanded its operation.

The Santa Monica City Council earlier this month approved a new lease for Angel Flight West, Inc. at the local airport. The corporation proposed an expansion plan to occupy 2,384 square feet of office space in the “Specialty Hanger Building” for with a five-year option, beginning March 1.

Angel Flight has occupied 1,027 square feet in the Santa Monica Airport administration building courtyard since 1988\. The lease will generate $214,581 in revenue for City Hall.
