Angel Flight is gaining altitude. Angel Flight West will relocate across the parking lot at the Santa Monica airport and will host a grand opening this weekend.

“Our opportunities to serve those in need have increased exponentially over the past several years,” said Angle Flight Executive Director Jim Weaver. “This new office will allow Angel Flight West to respond to these expanded challenges with a wider range of resources.”

Angel Flight West is a nonprofit organization that provides free air transportation for medical care or other compelling human needs. The organization has been in service for more than 21 years. To date, 22,241 flights have been provided. In 2004, Angel Flight West flew a record 4,300 missions.

The grand opening and open house of the new office will be Sunday, Feb. 20, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The event will feature a dedication of the office and Jim Long Boardroom at 2:30 p.m.
