On March 15, at approximately 1 a.m.
Officers responded to 9-1-1 calls regarding a possible fight in progress in the 1100 block of 14th Street. Officers arrived on scene and discovered Jerry Lopez had assaulted a victim with a wooden stick. As officers went to place Lopez under arrest he resisted and fought with officers. Lopez struck an officer in the face while resisting arrest. Lopez was taken into custody and booked for Attempted Homicide and Felony Battery on a Police Officer.
