‘Jumper’

Based on a critically-acclaimed science fiction novel by Steven Gould comes this adventure where “anywhere is possible.” Samuel Jackson and Hayden Christensen star in this action film centered on a genetic anomaly that allows a young man to teleport himself to infinite places. He discovers this gift has existed for centuries and finds himself in a war that has been raging for thousands of years between “Jumpers” and those who have sworn to kill them. (Fox) ‘Cassandra’s Dream’

Written and directed by Woody Allen, this drama features Ewan McGregor and Colin Farrell as working class brothers whose dreams of better lives lead to greed, desperation and eventually a deadly betrayal. How far would you go to reach your dreams? (Genius) ‘The Big Trail’

Nine years before director John Ford propelled him to stardom, John Wayne is featured here in one of The Duke’s early westerns (1930) as Breck Coleman leading hundreds of settlers in covered wagons from the Mississippi River to their destiny out West. On DVD for the first time, this two-disc edition features the original Fox grandeur film 70mm version and a wagon train full of bonus material. Commentary with film historians, a making-of segment, as well as profiles of Wayne and the film’s director Raoul Walsh are included. Walsh, who was also an actor and writer, would have played The Cisco Kid in his own film, “In Old Arizona” (1928) if an errant jackrabbit hadn’t cost him an eye by leaping through the windshield of his automobile. (Warner Baxter filled the role and won an Oscar.) (Fox) ‘The Color of Freedom’

Dennis Haysbert and Joseph Fiennes star in the true story of the deep bond that develops between political prisoner Nelson Mandela and James Gregory, the racist white South African who was Mandela’s prison guard for more than 20 years. Special features include “Remembering Mandela” and a theatrical trailer. (Image) ‘New Zealand 2’

Take a refreshing journey to this land of unspoiled landscapes and immense natural beauty. Spirited young guides Ian Wright and Zay Harding take us through some amazing sights on both the North and South Islands. From the picturesque cities of Wellington and Christchurch to a train trekking through the diverse topography on both sides of the Southern Alps, New Zealand is a brilliant natural paradise as seen in the “Lord of the Rings.” (Globetrekkertv.com) ‘The Odd Couple’ The Fourth Season Neil Simon’s classic oddballs are back again for this four-disc, 22 episode presentation that originally aired in 1973\. The much-loved series stars Jack Klugman as sloppy sports-writer Oscar Madison and Tony Randall as finicky photographer Felix Unger. Also featured are Felix’s ex-wife Gloria (Janis Hansen), Oscar’s secretary Myrna (Penny Marshall) and ex-wife Blanche (Brett Somers) and their cop pal Murray (Al Molinaro). (CBS) ‘Ringside Rivalries’ 2-Disc Slugfest Edition Boxing fans get an all-in-one package of the very best matchups throughout the sport’s history. Ali/Frazier and LaMotta/Robinson are just two of some of the fight game’s most electrifying bouts and compelling personalities that are on display here. A celebrated panel of experts includes Bert Sugar and offers new insights on this collection that contains over four hours of amazing and sometimes controversial action. (ESPN) ‘ChiPs’ The Complete Second Season With their aviator glasses and polyester beige uniforms, Frank “Ponch” Poncherello (Erik Estrada) and Jon Baker (Larry Wilcox) cruise the roads as California Highway Patrol officers in this popular 1970s crime-fighting series. The four-disc collection includes all 22 episodes from the sophomore year. A look at the first two seasons of the show and rare Estrada interviews are also part of the package. (Warner Bros) ‘Burn Notice’ Season One Covert intelligence operative Michael Westen (Jeffrey Donovan), recently disavowed by the U.S. Government, uses his Special Ops training to help others in trouble. Utilizing some sly humor, “Burn Notice” puts a fresh spin on the popular spy genre. The four-disc edition contains all episodes from the debut year including the double-length season finale. (Fox)
