‘The Heartbreak Kid’

The Farrelly Brothers (”There’s Something About Mary,” “Shallow Hal”) put another twist on the boy-meets-girl theme here. Ben Stiller is stellar as a perennial bachelor who finally says “I do” to the beautiful and sexy Lila (Malin Akerman) only to find during their honeymoon, the woman of his dreams is in fact a real nightmare. Special features include: Ben & Jerry, Heartbreak Halloween, The Egg Toss, deleted scenes, a gag reel, and commentary by Bobby and Peter Farrelly. (Dreamworks) ‘Mr. Woodcock’

Self-help author John Farley (Seann William Scott), returns to his hometown only to discover that his mother (Susan Sarandon) has fallen in love with his old high school nemesis, Mr. Woodcock (Billy Bob Thornton) — the gruff, no-nonsense gym teacher that made life hell for him and generations of kids since. Farley sets out to stop their impending marriage. Thornton, who starred as a football coach in “Friday Night Lights,” broke his foot while filming a scene wrestling with Scott. Bonus features include a making-of documentary, deleted scenes, and a feature dubbed “PE Trauma Tales.” (New Line) ‘Dirt’ — The Complete First Season In distancing herself from her popular character on “Friends,” Courteney Cox stars as Lucy Spiller, an obsessive editor of one of Tinseltown’s most influential gossip rags. Her demonic zeal with outing the darker side of the glamorous life unleashes demons of her own past that victimizes her in the very machinations she helped create. Thirteen episodes on four discs also include bonus material with the usual outtakes and deleted scenes but also contains media experts, actors, and real tabloid editors examining the public’s insatiable appetite for celebrity gossip. (Buena Vista) ‘Martin’ — The Complete Third Season You so crazy. Energetic and over-the-top comedian Martin Lawrence brings back his array of characters including Sheneneh, Mama Payne, Jerome, and of course his girlfriend Gina (Tisha Campbell) for all 27 episodes of the popular series’ third season. As in the prior two seasons, Lawrence shows a talent for creating havoc out of everyday situations, but this year adds a little more drama as relationships grow into another level and Martin gets his work life back on track. (HBO) ‘The Rolling Stone: Under Review 1967-1969’

This 90-minute documentary covering the music and career of the world’s most popular rock band during arguably their most creative period, is riveting stuff. Private photographs, rare musical performances, along with live and studio recordings of Stones classics such as “Gimme Shelter,” “Jumpin’ Jack Flash,” and “Sympathy for the Devil” are presented here. (MVD) Rawhide’ — Second Season Vol. 2 “Rollin’, rollin’, rollin’… keep them dogies movin’, rawhide!” Clint Eastwood stars in this 1960 series as rugged cowhand Rowdy Yates and the adventures that he and his trail boss (Eric Fleming) face as they drive cattle across the old west. This was Eastwood’s first major exposure and led him to star in the brilliant Sergio Leone man-with-no-name westerns. A gritty and realistic look at this nomadic life, nearly 14 hours appear on four discs covering the final 16 digitally remastered episodes of the sophomore season. Yeeee-ha! (Paramount) ‘Weird Science’ — Complete Seasons 1&2 Based on the John Hughes film of the same name, two regular high school nerds (Michael Manasseri and John Asher) struggling with unpopularity, a serious dating drought, and the endless torment of an older brother (Lee Tergesen) use their computer skills to create their dream girl, Lisa (Vanessa Angel). Lisa’s supermodel good looks and super-genius brain are overshadowed only by her extraordinary power to grant the boys whatever they desire. However she often takes the boys wishes a bit too literally, and things don t always turn out quite as planned. Cast biographies, a trivia quiz, and assorted cast commentaries are also included.
