In order to maintain the water chemistry in the pool at the Santa Monica Swim Center, the council will be asked to buy $129,000 worth of chemicals from Hill Brothers Chemical Co.

The chemicals, which include muriatic acid, sodium hypochlorite and sodium bicarbonate, are required by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health to keep the water balanced.
