Domestic violence is far from glitz and glamour — this weekend excluded. Sojourn Services For Battered Women And Their Children will host its 22nd annual dinner dance fundraiser, Sojourn’s Glitz & Glamour Ball, on Saturday at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel in Santa Monica. The annual celebration pays tribute to those who have provided inspiration, given comfort or offered guidance to battered women and their children, and raises operating capital for Sojourn’s critical programs.

This year, Sojourn will honor the following individuals and organizations: Actress Patricia Richardson will be presented with the “Inspiration of the Year Award” for her portrayal of Dr. Andy Campbell in the Lifetime television series “Strong Medicine.” In addition, Lifetime Television will take home the “Media Award” for its positive portrayal of women and women’s issues in the critically acclaimed drama, “Strong Medicine.” Marshall’s will be honored with the “Corporate Humanitarian Award” for its support of battered women’s shelters and Eve F. Sheedy, Esq. will accept the “Sheila James Kuehl Award,” for her years of dedicated involvement in the domestic violence field. Past honorees include Stockard Channing, Sandra Bullock and Julianna Margulies.
