On Dec. 3 at approximately 12:10 p.m.
Officers responded to the intersection of 12th Street and California in response to a report of a disturbance. The reporting party stated there was a woman yelling and kicking at cars as they drove through the intersection. Officers arrived and detained a woman who was yelling while holding a half-empty bottle of vodka. Officers immediately noticed objective symptoms of intoxication on the woman and placed her under arrest for public intoxication – alcohol. While officers were trying to place her into the rear seat of their patrol car, the woman suddenly kicked one officer twice before getting into the car.
Catherine Palmer, 56, homeless, was arrested for public intoxication and battery on a peace officer. Her bail was set at $20,000.
