Westside families are invited for a day of pumpkin painting, carnival games, bounce houses and more at Broadway Elementary School’s annual BOO BASH fall celebration this Saturday, Oct. 18 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 1015 Lincoln Blvd.

Admission is free and open to the public.

Young fans of K-Pop Demon Hunters won’t want to miss our one-of-a-kind haunted house! Step inside if you dare to brave the beats, battle the spirits and strike your best idol pose!

“We wanted to create something that everyone could enjoy - not just our students and parents - but neighbors and friends too,” said organizer and Broadway parent Helen Kovac. “The BOO BASH is such a great way to open our doors and celebrate the spirit of our school. It’s amazing to see how much heart and creativity everyone puts into it and how it connects us all beyond the classroom.”

Ticketed activities include carnival games, a chance to meet real reptiles from STAR Eco Station, crafts, tie-dying, jump houses and a (kid-approved) haunted house. Show off your finest halloween costume at the costume parade and competition judged by our beloved Broadway teachers and staff.

The popular scavenger hunt is back - collect enough stamps from each station and claim your BOO BASH tote bag (while supplies last).

“The creative team has completely outdone themselves,” Kovac said.

This family-friendly event raises money to support students at Venice’s nearly 100-year-old public school so they can have physical education, STEM and other enrichment programs.

Prospective students and parents are encouraged to attend as an introduction to our vibrant and diverse community. Meet other families, wear your Halloween best and support our school!

“Elementary school is about building relationships and community,” said parent and organizer Jen Ruiz. “I want to build relationships within our community and have prospective parents come see what an amazing community we have at this school.”

Broadway is a unique dual-immersion school with both a Mandarin and Spanish Immersion pathway for students to learn a second language at a young age and experience both cultures through celebrations, art, food and music. This academically rigorous program aims to build second language proficiency, academic achievement and an appreciation for diversity in the heart of Venice.
