Caltrans and Southern California Edison crews will continue emergency repair work on Pacific Coast Highway and Topanga Canyon Boulevard through Jan. 25, with various lane closures scheduled throughout the week.
Work on PCH will not occur Monday due to the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday. Traffic restrictions on Topanga Canyon Boulevard will remain in effect.
Crews may establish single-lane closures on PCH between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. weekdays in addition to scheduled closures.
Current speed limits on PCH include 35 mph from Temescal Canyon Road to Sunset Boulevard, and 25 mph from Sunset Boulevard to Carbon Beach Terrace, which remains an active work zone.
Multiple work zones are planned along PCH. From Trancas Canyon Road to Guernsey Avenue and at the Corral Canyon Road Bridge, nighttime closures are possible. South of Las Flores Canyon Road to Sunset Boulevard, crews will repair fire-damaged roadway, drainage, electrical systems and slopes with lane closures from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. weekdays as needed.
Just south of Big Rock Drive, northbound traffic will be reduced to one lane from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays for catchment wall construction.
Between Las Flores Canyon and Topanga Canyon Boulevard, Southern California Edison trenching operations will close one northbound lane from 4 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays, 4 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekends, and 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily. One southbound lane will be closed from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, 4 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekends, and 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily.
South of Topanga Canyon Boulevard, slope repair and culvert cleanup will close one northbound lane from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays. Between Coastline Drive and Porto Marina Way near Getty Villa, retaining wall work will close one northbound lane from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays.
Motorists should remain alert while driving through SR-27, particularly around blind curves. Fines can be doubled in work zones.
