On 04/01/22, at 6:25 p.m., Santa Monica Fire companies responded to a report of a structure fire at Parking structure #7, in the 300 block of Broadway. First arriving units found heavy smoke coming from the first floor of the 4th Street side of the parking structure. Crews began fire suppression on two vehicles that were on fire as a result of a traffic collision inside the structure. A total of four cars were involved, each having a single driver. The occupants were able to self-extricate to safety where they were treated by Paramedics. One patient was transported to the hospital and two others were released at the scene. Firefighters initially encountered small explosions due to the cars electric batteries. Crews were able extinguish the fire in approximately 20 minutes. The incident is under investigation by fire investigators and @santamonicapd.
