St. Joseph Center will hold its 18th Annual Dinner Dance and Auctions on Saturday, May 10th in the Crystal Ballroom of the Beverly Hills Hotel.

Last year’s event, attended by more than 500 business owners, professionals, and community leaders, raised more than $340,000 to benefit homeless and low-income men, women and children on the westside.

Longtime Palisades resident, Stephen Collins, will host the program for the third time. Television audiences know him as Rev. Eric Camden on the hit WB series 7th Heaven and before that in a role opposite Seta Ward on Sisters.

As a member of the Parish of St. Matthew, Collins is among those parishioners who provide outreach services to the needy of the community. Last year, the parish received St. Joseph Center’s “2002 Community Service Award” for its outstanding outreach ministry and on-going dedication to helping the most vulnerable in our society.

This year’s “Building a New Tomorrow” event includes a cocktail reception, silent auction, dinner, live auction, live music and dancing. Comedian Jim Bentley and the Leonard Neil Orchestra will provide entertainment.

Funds raised from the sale of tickets and auctions will go toward helping more than 7,500 homeless and working poor with basic resources and providing referrals to health care, shelter, job training, job opportunities and housing.

Tickets are $250 per person. For information call: 310-396-6468 ext. 328.
