The City of Malibu will be hosting a Wilderness and Remote First Aid class to be taught by an expert training team to help community members be prepared for natural disasters or other emergencies in urban areas as well as wilderness and remote environments.

The [American Red Cross](https://www.redcross.org/?ref=smdp.com) class is offered on Saturday, June 22 and Saturday, June 29\. 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Malibu City Hall (23825 Stuart Ranch Rd, Malibu, CA 90265). The class focuses on wilderness and remote environments, in addition to urban disasters such as earthquakes, wildfires, and mudslides. The class will provide students with the foundational skills necessary for action in emergencies when professional emergency services providers cannot respond immediately.

The $170 fee for the Wilderness and Remote First Aid class covers the cost of textbooks and class materials, with all proceeds going to Soteria Training Services. Students should bring a hat, chair, sunscreen and water, since portions of the class will be held outside. To register, contact Sandra Hardy at SandraSoteria@gmail.com. Payment by cash or check is due at the first class. Students must attend both days of the class to get a certificate of completion.
