City Partners with Sustainable Works for Documentary Screening on Plastic Pollution

The City of Santa Monica and Sustainable Works will present a free screening of "Plastic People" followed by a panel discussion Tuesday, November 11 at 7 p.m. at Laemmle Monica Film Center, 1332 2nd St.

The award-winning documentary chronicles humanity's relationship with plastic and features acclaimed science journalist Ziya Tong investigating microplastics' impact on human health. Directed by Ben Addelman, the film follows Tong as she works with leading scientists and conducts experiments in her home and body to expose the invisible threat of plastic pollution.

The panel will feature Dianna Cohen, CEO and co-founder of Plastic Pollution Coalition, with Sarah Spitz, UC Master Gardener for Los Angeles County, serving as moderator. Additional panelists will be announced.
