First, George Balanis (letter to editor 1/23/03) can go live with Bauer — they’d make good housemates. Put them both on an island. Pomposity, persnickety, snobbery, and “let’s leave me my Santa Monica and get rid of the poor, uneducated and homeless...” Those two ought to start their own 501(c) 3 non-profit organization. Then they can petition grantors for money to continue their insanity. And they would-n’t have to pay real estate taxes on their hallowed, hate-filled home. Yeah, low-income housing causes more traffic; so does Circuit City.

Thom’s (letter to editor 1/23/03) ideas are interesting and possible. Is anyone home? Is anyone listening? Can’t be that the City Council is listening; after all, we lowly members of the tax paying public only get two minutes to say anything at THEIR meetings.

Now, “Mr. Incites” (1/23/03) — thanks for not having kids. Rent a truck to go to Montana. Or have your “stuff” flown up there. We don’t need any more gas guzzlers in this town. It’s a penis extension for both men and women. SUVs ( and PT CRUIS- ERS) are smogged like full blown trucks. I haven’t taken my eyes off the real problem. George “W” is an idiot; 98 percent of the populous has their own “shtick” and won’t bother with “causes” and campaigns against the war; campaigns to end homelessness; increase education, etc.

I received the newsletter today from the Center for Nonprofit Management. There is a JOB OPENING as Director of the Ocean Park Community Center; it is the third replacement director in as many years. The job pays $40-45,000 annually with “great benefits.” Caveat — you must be able to handle your caseload within the city’s BUD- GET. In other words, feed, house and care for those with no hope for about $1 a day. Want the job? Me, neither!
