CORRECTION — In an article in the Oct. 15 edition, Mayor Richard Bloom was misquoted in his quote taken from Shakespeare. It should have read “Methinks he doth protest too much,” in regards to City Council candidate Bobby Shriver’s complaint that the press is focusing on his family ties rather than local issues. full update on this project,” said Rob Rader, chair of the Wilshire/Montana Neighborhood Coalition.

“There is also news on the Fairmont Miramar and its proposed development agreement. Wilmont has aggressively sought to make sure that public input is heard on this project,” Rader said.

“Wilmont appeared at City Council meetings and took the initiative in scheduling public meetings with the hotel’s ownership, including at our annual meeting in July. We will continue to be proactive in issues that affect our neighborhood,” he added.

In other business, the board will try to organize a public forum on homelessness as an issue for the entire neighborhood.

“Hopefully, we will be able to coordinate with the Bring LA Home project in order to educate all community members on what we can do to address the problems of homelessness,” Rader said.

A proposed local business discount program for Wilmont members is also in the planning stages.
