On July 31, 2018 at about 1:55 a.m.
Officers responded to the area of 500 Colorado Avenue regarding a fight in progress. Upon arrival, officers located two male subjects involved in the fight with one of the subjects (victim) lying on the ground and unconscious. Officers spoke to several witnesses and determined for unknown reasons a male suspect punched another in the face causing him to fall to the ground and sustain head trauma. The victim was treated at the scene by Santa Monica Fire Department Paramedics and transported to a local hospital with head trauma. The suspect was taken into custody.
Johnny Williams, 54, from Los Angeles, was arrested for battery causing severe bodily injury. Bail was set at $50,000.
