On October 4, at about 7:02 p.m.
Officers responded to the Von’s located at 1311 Wilshire Bl. regarding a shoplifting that had occurred and the suspect was being detained by the store’s loss prevention. Loss prevention had observed the subject conceal multiple packs of Tide Pods and attempted to leave without paying. Loss prevention detained the subject and called the police. Upon determining that a crime had indeed occurred, the officers took custody of the subject and he was arrested. Travis Kyle Shields, 35, from Santa Monica was cited for Shoplifting.
