Officers responded to the 1700 block of Ocean Front Walk regarding an Unknown Trouble. Officers were flagged down by a group of individuals who were later identified as the victims. The victims relayed that they were sitting on a bench on Ocean Front Walk when two males began walking in their direction. The two parties were engaged in a verbal altercation when one of the males began threatening to kill the victims. One of the males attempted to deescalate the situation, while the other male continued to make threatening statements and pulled out a 9mm pistol. The suspect put the gun back in his backpack as the other party ran away. Officers located Paul Thomas Hightower and arrested him for 422 P.C.-Criminal Threats, 417(a)(2) P.C.- Brandishing a firearm, and 245(a)(2) P.C.-Assault with a deadly weapon (firearm).
