SMPD Officers responded with lights and sirens to a Battery call on the 2700 block of Santa Monica Blvd. Dispatch relayed a male was beat up by two men and was bleeding from his head. Upon arrival, the Victim told officers that he had gotten off the bus and was walking down Santa Monica Blvd. when two suspects began to follow him. Suddenly the victim was hit on the head and the suspects proceeded to punch and kick him. Further, the suspects took the victim’s cell phone away when he attempted to call 911.

Officers located the two suspects and Jonathan Daniel Burton and David Scott Perkins were arrested for 243(D) -PC Battery with Serious Injury.

Burton was further charged with 211 PC- Robbery.
