On Saturday, September 19 at approximately 2:25 p.m.
Two SMPD Officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of Palisades Park regarding a female who had assaulted individuals in the area. Upon arrival, a Public Safety Officer guided the two Officers toward a woman sitting on a bench who appeared intoxicated. After speaking to the woman and to one of her victims, the Officers confirmed she was indeed intoxicated. The victim stated she had shoved him and then proceeded to push a woman who was sitting on a nearby bench and took her seat. Rhebecca Jo Morris was arrested on a 647 (F) PC- Public Intoxication and a 243 PC- Battery. Morris was cited and released.
On Monday, September 21, at approximately 11 p.m.
Officers of the Santa Monica Police Department responded to Cross Campus located near the 900 block of Colorado Avenue regarding a burglary call. Upon arrival, officers met with the reporting party who told them that he was working late in his office and heard loud noises coming from the southwest corner of the business. The man said he determined the rear door of the business was smashed and he saw a suspect carrying two bags attempt to open a locked door. A description was provided to officers who later located and arrested Wilber Steele, 60 years old for 459 P.C. Burglary, and 148 P.C. Resisting Arrest.
