On January 5, at approximately 8:20 a.m.
SMPD officers were dispatched to the 3200 block of Santa Monica Blvd. A witness contacted the 9-1-1 dispatch center to report someone breaking a window to obtain access to an apartment at the location. Upon arrival, officers encountered the suspect, later identified as Abel Saenz Torres, a 47-year-old male, exiting the apartment. After questioning, it was determined that Torres did not know the individual that lived in the apartment and he was subsequently arrested for burglary.
