Crime Watch is culled from reports provided by the Santa Monica Police Department. These are arrests only. All parties are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Wednesday, March 2 at 7:12 p.m.

SMPD Officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of Ashland Ave. regarding a reported prowler at the location. Dispatch advised that the resident reported seeing a female subject attempt to open the front door. Upon arrival, Officers observed the subject sitting on a chair on the front porch of the house. The subject refused to comply with officers and resisted arrest. Ultimately, Officers were able to detain her and speak with the owner of the house. The owner relayed that the suspect had been in possession of his mail and returned it upon his request. Angela Baez was ultimately booked for Resisting Arrest and Burglary. Officers also requested a Stay Away order from the location.
