Crime Watch is culled from reports provided by the Santa Monica Police Department. These are arrests only. All parties are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

On Thursday, April 21 at 7:33 p.m.

Officers arrived at the Ken Edwards Center on the 1500 block of 4th St. regarding a battery. The victim relayed that she was on a walk and sat on a bench in Palisades Park along the 1400 block of Ocean Ave. Suddenly, a subject walked up to her and pulled her down to the ground and proceeded to kick her. The victim tried to use her pepper spray to protect herself, but it was ineffective. The subject walked away and the victim contacted SMPD.  Officers located Jesus Young and he was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon.
