police tape crime scene
Published:

Crime Watch is culled from reports provided by the Santa Monica Police Department. These are arrests only. All parties are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

On Thursday, May 5 at 5:45 p.m.

An officer traveling near the 2000 block of Broadway was flagged down by the reporting party that witnessed a suspect climbing out of the window of Big Jo’s restaurant and pointed him out to the responding officer.  The restaurant owner was contacted and confirmed there was an alarm activation near the time of the report received by witnesses. Video surveillance of the restaurant confirmed that someone entered the front window, removed two bags of chips from a rack inside and then climbed back out the window. The suspect was identified as Ricardo Palazuelos and placed under arrest. Due to the LA County Emergency Bail Schedule, Palazuelos was later released from the Santa Monica Jail with a citation and a return date of 06/21/2022.
